A of anger, but very little substance. If you enjoy childish temper tantrums, you might enjoy it.
Beth Lynch delivers a succinct, informative and clarifying treatise on the corruption and collusion among our bought and paid for legislators , their corporate masters and their media mouthpieces. This is must read book for anyone who wants to know what's become of our shattered American Dream and our faith in once hallowed institutions.
No you're not imagining things . As George Carlin famously quipped , " it's a big club and you ain't in it."
Rest assured the Revolution won't be televised , our corporate media will see to that .
More than a chilling look at the failure of a media outlet to be what it wants to sell itself as, the author's primer on the descent of the media as an institution over the last forty years will help make sense of the mess of the media landscape as a whole today. Concise but detailed, principled but objective, the author never lingers on her soapbox but keeps educating at a breakneck pace. Highly recommended to anyone who watches cable news and wonders if they're the only one who cares about the real story anymore.
If this book was released five to ten years ago, the DNC & Comcast (MSNBC owner) would have done anything to stopped this from being put out. I would have been banned from major book store chains & discredited on the corporate news media.
But this isn't ten years ago, plus we have the internet.
Volume 1 of this series exposes the early examples of trusted media sources colluding with government workers from various presidential administrations.
In this era of independent online media, the topics this book deals with are thoroughly discussed and understood as fact.
I would recommend this book to those who still believe in cable/network media, but are beginning to wake up from their corporate deceptions.
Can't wait for Volume 2.
